John Mark is our longest-serving adviser and has been with us from the very start. He is a strategist and managing director of a consulting firm based in Uganda but with active assignments in over 10 countries in Africa. He has over 10 years of experience working in the financial services sector, especially development and institutional banking. He has particular experience in business development, management, and support of donor-funded development projects in rural areas. For over three years, he gained vital experience in providing business development to small and medium enterprises to develop strategies right from take-off and through sustained growth. He also has two years of agro-value chain finance experience working on a USDA-funded project in northern Uganda, especially setting up and managing financial services linkages between rural financial institutions and urban-based banks and microfinance institutions.

John Mark possesses extensive communication tools design experience working as a technical consultant designing financial literacy curriculums and grassroots communication materials with a focus on behavioral change. He is a facilitator with broad technical experience in training, capacity building, and coaching. He is a serial entrepreneur with a passion for helping other businesses to thrive.
